Federal regulations require the TIP and MTP to be consistent with the NCDOT’s State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). The Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) is the long-range, fiscally-constrained plan that defines the transportation network that will serve both present and projected volumes of vehicular traffic, public transportation use, bicycle, pedestrian, aviation and freight travel in and around the urban area. The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) identifies the transportation projects that GCLMPO and NCDOT plan to undertake over the next ten years. The documents will be available for review and public comments will be received from October 1 – 31, 2021. The Gaston-Cleveland-Lincoln Metropolitan Planning Organization (GCLMPO) has established a public comment period to amend the 2020-2029 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and the 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP).
